A Memorable School Trip at Hilston Park

At Hilston Park, we recently had the pleasure of hosting a primary school for a four-day residential, welcoming 37 enthusiastic children alongside their dedicated teachers. It was an unforgettable experience filled with laughter, learning, and personal growth, and we are delighted to share a glimpse into the magic that unfolded during their time with us.

Experiences in Outdoor Learning

From the moment they arrived, the children dove headfirst into a whirlwind of activities designed to challenge and inspire. The visit was packed with opportunities for adventure and discovery:

• Room Inspections: The children transformed room tidiness into a friendly competition, adding an exciting twist to daily routines and encouraging teamwork and personal responsibility.
• Music, Dance and Drama: Creative expression took centre stage as students explored their artistic talents together, building confidence and collaboration through performance.
• Campfire Disco: An evening campfire disco created a magical atmosphere, with students dancing and singing under the stars and building bonds that will last long after the trip.
• High Ropes Course: With hearts racing and palms sweating, the children tackled our high ropes course — a true test of courage, trust, and determination.
• Orienteering: Armed with maps and compasses, the group navigated through beautiful woodland terrain, sharpening problem-solving skills and learning to work as a team.
• Team-Building Activities: A range of challenges designed to promote cooperation, communication, and mutual support rounded out a truly exceptional residential experience.
